Duncombe Park Steam Fair

The 1st weekend in July saw Swinging Sisters on an island in the mud at Duncombe Park Steam Rally. Heavy rain made the field very soft on the Friday and vehicles had problems getting about. Fortunately the two days of the event were mainly dry. The event attracts a good mixture of exhibits including:-

• A large number of full sized and miniature steam engines
  A good working area with sawmill, balers etc.
  A number of fairground organs
  Large selection of stationery engines
  A large selection of classic cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles.
  A craft tent, children’s fairground rides and trade stalls.

On Saturday evening the engines and their drivers descend into Helmsley market place for their tea. There is also the arena with events during the day and stage show.
